The Principles of Repentance and the Democratic Party

An examination in how the Democratic Party flouts the Christian values they claim so firmly to follow.

Eighty-three percent of Americans claim to be Christian.
Approximately eighty-two percent of the Democrats elected to the 114th Congress, likewise, claim to be Christian. Yet almost all those Democrats support anti-Christian legislation – notably abortion and Planned Parenthood, same-sex marriage, homosexuality and anti-death penalty.
Are they nominal (in name only) Christians? Why do they claim to be Christians and vote contrary to what Christ would have them vote as revealed in the King James Version of the Bible? Just as Christ exposed the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees of His day for not following the Mosaic Law (The Ten Commandments), my book exposes the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party of our day, for not following the same Ten Commandments and the Higher Law as Jesus taught on the Sermon on the Mount! Matthew 5, 6, 7

a note from Robert J. Adams, Sr.

My purpose in writing this book, is to save the souls of others; to warn the people and the political leaders of our day, especially the democratic leaders, to repent — so that their blood be not upon my head.

Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning;
if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head..
Ezekiel 33:3

Author Robert J. Adams, Sr.

Bob Adams, a native of Los Angeles, California, received a bachelor’s in speech communication from Fullerton State University in California. Bob enjoys church, family, politics, movies and sports.

Prior to graduation Bob was drafted into the Vietnam War, which resulted in Bob being awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals.

Upon returning home from Vietnam Bob became involved in unrighteous living, which caused his physical and spiritual breakdown.

Bob returned home to his father as a prodigal son and, shortly thereafter, was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Through his conversion Bob became extremely familiar with the Principle of Repentance — the pains, sorrows and joy involved with the conversion process.

Bob, truly, loves the Lord and His Atonement, which has enabled Bob the opportunity to repent and change — so that he and all who choose to repent can dwell with their  Savior and their Father in Heaven!

Chapter One

I AM A SINNER

Again, my purpose in writing this book is to warn individuals and leaders of, primarily, the Democratic Party to repent so that their blood be not upon my head. Repentance is a word derived from the Greek meaning to change. The dictionary defines repentance as 1. The act of turning with sorrow from a past course or action.

A pro-choice and a pro-gay person might say ‘Whoa Charlie, hold your horses. I don’t feel sorry for having an abortion. Roe v Wade made it legal in 1973. And as far as gay rights and same-sex marriages are concerned, they are now legalized in all fifty states’. These statements are true. So it begs the question, are some of our laws corrupt?

While you’re pondering that question I want to take you on a little journey back a few years when Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, and more recently Governor Mark Sanford (R) of South Carolina were caught in adultery. Each of them suffered severe public condemnation.

These men experienced some degree of repentance because of the public condemnation. As a result, their outward performances improved. Tiger Woods regained his #1 ranking in the golf world; Kobe Bryant won back to back NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers in ‘09 and ‘10, and Governor Sanford, more recently, won his congressional race for the House of Representatives. Repentance works!

But repentance only works when good God-fearing laws are the standard. Since our nation, presently as a whole, supports the seventh commandment ‘Thou shalt not commit adultery’, the nation’s condemnation of those men’s actions caused them to rethink their behavior and success was the result!

Now, let us return to the question I asked you to ponder. Are some of our laws corrupt? Clearly, according to God’s commandments, homosexuality, same-sex marriage and abortion are serious sins, and I quote: “…Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination…” (Leviticus 18:22). And, also, “…If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them…” (Leviticus 20:13). Likewise with abortion, “Thou shalt not kill…” (Exodus 20:13). He didn’t say ‘Thou shalt not kill outside the womb’. He said ‘…Thou shalt not kill…’. And I might add, the punishment for killing life is as follows: “…And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death…” (Leviticus 24:17).

Another pro-abortion advocate might add ‘…Hey, Charlie, you don’t really expect me to believe that that’s really a human being inside her womb, do you…?’ I would reply, as a Biology minor, it’s clear that once a male sperm unites with a female egg conception has occurred and a human life has begun to form. It, then, develops through the embryonic and fetal stages until birth. He or she, then, has the opportunity to continue to develop physically and, hopefully, spiritually throughout life.

President Obama wasn’t born with a law book in his hand and asked to pass the law boards in a couple months. No, he was given time to develop until he could handle such a challenge. And he wasn’t cut short in the womb before he could reach his full potential. That would’ve been murder!

"GREAT BOOK! I'm not a very political person and I was reading this book as a favor to someone and was pleasantly surprised! Bob makes some really great points!"
